Dr. Thomas Lancaster

Dr Thomas Lancaster is one of the world’s leading academic integrity researchers and advocates. He works as a Senior Teaching Fellow at Imperial College London, UK, where he specialises in Computer Science and has developed an Academic Integrity in STEMM research module for undergraduate students. Thomas is best known for research into contract cheating and plagiarism detection.

Thomas has spoken widely around the world on academic integrity, been featured on TV and radio, is a member of advisory groups for national organisations, contributed to Epigeum’s academic integrity online programme and authored the short student guidebook “Avoid Plagiarism” for Sage. His most recent publication, co-written with an undergraduate student partner, examined how student cheating during the Covid-19 pandemic has been fuelled by sites like Chegg.
